Kay Elaine, born Kaitlyn Elaine Sharp-Marshall is an ambitious young woman from the east side of Austin, Texas. Her greatest achievement is her loving son Jrelyn.

​

As a child, Kaitlyn was very active and creative. She enjoyed gymnastics, cheer, art & music. Her mother decided to place her in activities, where she tapped into her talents. Her mother worked in the corporate world but eventually became a full-time cosmetologist. Kaitlyn spent the majority of her time in her mother's salon when she was not at any of her activities. Naturally, one would assume that Kaitlyn's mother directed her to the beauty industry but, she didn't. She wanted her daughter to choose her career.

 

Kaitlyn has always had a flare for writing, apparent in her first published poem in her 4th-grade year. She often wrote to express herself without judgment, which continued into adulthood. Kaitlyn Also loved the beauty industry so & so she attended cosmetology school and became licensed in 2014. After she put her writing skills to use to obtain her B.A in Mass Communication: Journalism. There she wrote opinion pieces & sports columns and even had a magazine publication. After graduation from college Kaitlyn worked in the corporate world & dabbled in the beauty industry on the side.

Utilizing her corporate HR & admin experience, Kaitlyn started business & career development consulting. By day she is a benefits & leave specialist for a government program. On evenings & weekends, she is an active cosmetologist who specializes in locs & natural hair styling. Both careers allow Kaitlyn to utilize her gifts & this site is where the creativity collides.
